Roughly five miles northwest of Downtown Dallas, Texas, there is a gorgeous city lake comprising more than one thousand acres known as White Rock Lake. White Rock Lake was created by damming White Rock Creek in 1910. The park and shoreline were constructed in the 1930s in response to the growing residential development around White Rock Lake. Today the lake is bounded on the north by Northwest Highway, on the south by Garland Road, on the east by Buckner Boulevard, and is encircled by East and West Lawther Drive.
