WHITE ROCK

A gorgeous city lake comprising more than one thousand acres.

Welcome to White Rock

Roughly five miles northwest of Downtown Dallas, Texas, there is a gorgeous city lake comprising more than one thousand acres known as White Rock Lake. Of all of the parks in the Dallas Park system, White Rock is one of the most heavily used. Every year there are numerous runs, races, and special events held at White Rock Lake, which also offers a multitude of passive activities. For example, it is a fabulous place to enjoy wildlife and the natural beauty of the area in a convenient urban setting. Among the many points of interest at White Rock Lake, you’ll find more than nine miles of biking and hiking trails, boat ramps, piers, pavilions, picnic areas, a dog park, a wetland, an Audubon Society bird-watching site, the Dallas Arboretum, the Bath House Cultural Center, and the White Rock Lake Museum.

White Rock Lake was created by damming White Rock Creek in 1910. The park and shoreline were constructed in the 1930s in response to the growing residential development around White Rock Lake. Today the lake is bounded on the north by Northwest Highway, on the south by Garland Road, on the east by Buckner Boulevard, and is encircled by East and West Lawther Drive. Homes for sale near White Rock Lake offer quick and easy access to a multitude of recreational opportunities, including sailing. In fact, the lake is home to the White Rock Boat Club and Corinthian Sailing Club, both of which have multiple nationally recognized sailors. Kayaking is also popular, along with sculling, birding, and fishing.

White Rock Lake real estate is found in several Northeast Dallas neighborhoods including Peninsula, Old Lake Highlands, Little Forest Hills, Lakewood, Lake Park Estates, Lake Highlands, Forest Hills, Claremont/Hillridge, Casa Linda Estates, and Alger Park/Ash Creek. White Rock Lake properties consist of attached and detached residences of a variety of ages, ranging from new construction to historic homes.
